Recently, the “Vista of the Green Silk Road” International Communication Program 2024 was successfully launched at the China Pavilion during the “China Night” event of the 35th Sunny Side of the Doc. The program, guided by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the State Council Information Office and organized by the BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC) and Belt and Road Media Cooperation Union (B&R MCU, with its secretariat at China Intercontinental Communication Center), has been included in the list of deliverables of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
The launching ceremony took place in the Hall of Honor at La Rochelle Municipality in France. The Mayor of La Rochelle attended the event. Cui Dandan, Secretary General of BRIGC, delivered a video message. Liu Wei, Deputy Director of International Media Relations Center, CICC, attended the event on behalf of both parties. Nearly 100 representatives participated in the ceremony, including those from the organizing committee of Sunny Side of the Doc, China International Television Corporation, Bilibili, and other Chinese and international media organizations.
Cui Dandan stated that BRIGC is committed to promoting the exchanges of green development concepts, innovative technologies and practical experience between China and BRI partner countries. With the support of Sunny Side of the Doc, “Vista of the Green Silk Road” is expected to build a platform for broad participation and open exchange of ideas, and to enhance the consensus and action of the international community in boosting green development.
Liu Wei said that the first season of “Vista of the Green Silk Road,” launched in 2022, collected over 200 submissions from nearly 70 organizations. Five outstanding works were selected and translated into multiple languages. These works were broadcast on mainstream media in BRI partner countries, featured on relevant news websites of Chinese and foreign news agencies, and shared on new media platforms, receiving extensive attention globally. We look forward to more partners joining the “Vista of the Green Silk Road” program, contributing to the dissemination and promotion of green, low-carbon, and sustainable development.
Through the selection of exemplary cases, production of high-quality documentaries and short videos, global media broadcast, offline thematic activities, high-end interview programs and global news reports, the “Vista of the Green Silk Road” International Communication Program aims to establish an important platform for sharing cooperation outcomes and information in the field of global green and sustainable development and promoting the concept of green Silk Road and relevant practical experiences.
Under the theme of Green Cities, the 2024 program will collect exemplary cases and stories of green development from various fields in different cities and enterprises worldwide. The program will produce a series of short videos highlighting green infrastructure, green energy, green transportation, and green lifestyles, aiming to tell the story of BRI green development from a multi-dimensional and comprehensive perspective.
