2025 Methane Summit, with the theme of "Towards the 15th FYP (2026-2030): Innovation & Collaboration", was held in Beijing on May 18. This Summit focused on new developments in global methane governance and international best practices, discussed methane reduction policies, technologies, investment and financing solutions, and aimed to build a more efficient and powerful global methane reduction action system.

To address the global challenge of methane emission and promote international experience sharing and cooperation, BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC) along with Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center (FECO) and Environmental Defense Fund Beijing Representative Office jointly hosted the Parallel Session "International Dialogue on Methane Emissions Reduction". Representatives from Central Asia, ASEAN, Latin America and domestic experts gathered to discuss the opportunities and challenges of global methane emission reduction.

This parallel session also demonstrates BRIGC's specific measure for implementing China Methane Emissions Control Action Plan. In future, we will leverage the platform of BRIGC to promote global methane exchanges and cooperation through South-South cooperation on climate change.
