IGDC COP31 Debut Livestream Worldwide

2026-11-05Source:IGDC

The 2026 UN Climate Change Conference (The 31st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, COP31) will take place in Antalya, Türkiye, from 9 to 20 November. As global climate governance shifts from setting targets to delivering results, growing demand for cooperation is creating new opportunities for projects and investment in energy transition, green infrastructure, climate resilience, and green finance. COP31 provides an important opportunity to translate policy commitments into practical action. As the principal decision-making forum under the UN climate process, it is also becoming a key platform for bringing together resources, connecting partners with shared priorities, and advancing practical solutions to support the green transition across the Global South.

The year 2026 is particularly significant, with the Conferences of the Parties to all three Rio Conventions taking place in the same year. It also marks a year of important progress for the International Green Development Coalition for the Belt and Road Regions (IGDC) in its engagement with global environmental governance. In August, IGDC was granted observer status at the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. In October, IGDC participated for the first time as an observer at the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17) in Yerevan, Armenia. In November, IGDC will return to the UN Climate Change Conference, moving toward institutionalized, regularized, and comprehensive participation.

As an active promoter of green development cooperation across the Global South, IGDC will focus on “showcasing achievements, connecting partners with resources, and advancing practical cooperation” at COP31. With the aim of translating high-level policy dialogue into concrete action, IGDC will host two high-level thematic events at the UN Climate Change Pavilion and the China Pavilion on 9 and 12 November, respectively. The side event on 9 November will be livestreamed on YouTube, allowing audiences worldwide to follow the discussions.

From Ulaanbaatar to Yerevan and now Antalya, IGDC’s participation in all three Rio Convention conferences in 2026 marks an important milestone in its growing engagement with global environmental governance. As the global green transition enters a new phase focused increasingly on implementation and investment, COP31 will provide an important opportunity to demonstrate how commitments can be turned into action. IGDC welcomes engagement from government agencies, international organizations, financial institutions, research institutions, and companies working in renewable energy, power generation, electricity grids, energy storage, green manufacturing, green buildings, environmental protection, and infrastructure. We look forward to exploring international cooperation opportunities that meet the needs of different partners, sharing successful green development practices more widely, and connecting green development priorities around the world with the resources, expertise, and investment needed to deliver results.

We warmly invite you to join us at COP31!
